Synopsis

A dangerous alliance between a Vampyre bride and an Alpha Werewolf becomes a love deep enough to sink your teeth into. Misery Lark, the only daughter of the most powerful Vampyre councilman of the Southwest, is an outcast — again. Her days of living in anonymity among the Humans are over: she has been called upon to uphold a historic peacekeeping alliance between the Vampyres and their mortal enemies, the Weres, and she sees little choice but to surrender herself in the exchange. Weres are ruthless and unpredictable, and their Alpha, Lowe Moreland, is no exception. He rules his pack with absolute authority, but not without justice. Misery has her own reasons to agree to this marriage of convenience — reasons that have nothing to do with politics and everything to do with the only thing she's ever cared about.

My review

Bride is one of my favorite novels of all time, and I don't say that lightly. Ali Hazelwood writes for romance readers in the truest sense — you can feel it in every page, every line of dialogue, every small detail she plants that Misery doesn't notice but we do. Misery is relatable from the very first moment: sarcastic, unexpectedly tender, and with an agenda of her own that makes her far more interesting than the typical paranormal heroine. And Lowe... Lowe is exactly what paranormal romance promises at its best: tall, protective, a natural leader, and absolutely gone for her long before he admits it even to himself. What elevates this book above conventional romance is the mystery running underneath everything: this isn't just chemistry and a marriage of convenience — there's something to uncover, and that keeps you locked in until the very end. It's one of those books I come back to reread and always find something new.

Who is this for?

Fans of paranormal romance who want a relatable heroine and a hero who falls slowly but completely

Readers who enjoy romance with real suspense and mystery woven through, not just as decoration

Anyone curious about Ali Hazelwood in a new genre and ready to discover she can do anything
