Synopsis

Great Pack Gathering. Three little words. One mandate that ruined my life. I'm a doctor and a researcher. My pack is small, tucked away in central Texas. A simple existence, and I like it that way. Until the mandate comes: every unmated wolf in the world, called to one place. I'm a psi — the weakest designation there is. I can barely shift, and there's no chance I'll be matched. Until my powers suddenly surge and the most powerful wolf I've ever seen turns out to be the prince of the shifter world. My fated mate, whether he wants to be or not.

My review

Fated to the Wolf Prince was a genuinely pleasant surprise. April L. Moon builds a shifter world with its own rules and pack hierarchy that feels solid and well thought out, and the best part is that the overarching plot develops in the background while each book focuses on a different couple. It's a narrative device that works really well: every story is complete on its own, but there's something bigger moving between the lines that keeps you wanting more. Brielle is an easy heroine to root for, underestimated by everyone, including herself, with a potential she's only beginning to recognize. Kane delivers exactly what the genre promises: alpha, protective, and inevitably gone for her. If werewolves and the alpha/omega dynamic are your thing, this book delivers with writing that's more careful and layered than I expected. I loved it and I'm absolutely continuing the series.
