My review
It's been a while since a book made me squeal with excitement, and The Fake Mate came along to remind me exactly why I fell in love with romance. Lana Ferguson takes the fake dating trope, sets it in a hospital, adds guardian wolves and omegaverse elements, and the result is a story you can't put down. Mackenzie and Noah are the perfect combination of grumpy and sunshine: he's all walls and grunts, she's pure chaotic energy, and the tension between them is electric from the very first moment. What I loved most is that beneath the spice, which is abundant and wonderful, there are two protagonists who truly see each other. Noah falls slowly but surely, and when he falls, he falls hard. It's the kind of story that leaves you with a full heart and a smile you can't control. I was completely in love.
