Synopsis

Alexei was exactly what I didn't know I needed: a Russian mobster with real trauma, a rival who gives him absolutely no quarter, and tension that builds chapter by chapter without rushing. Eva Winners isn't afraid to let her characters hurt, Alexei carries a past that breaks your heart, and that makes every moment he allows himself to feel something infinitely more meaningful. Aurora is exactly the kind of heroine I love: fierce, sharp, and impossible to manipulate. The rivals to lovers trope works here because the distrust is real and earned, which means when the wall finally comes down, it comes down completely. I loved it.
